So a lot has happened since my last post! I'll put it out in bullets...like a timeline =)
* Corban Basketball training camp July 18-26 and it was SO intense but rewarding! I hurt my shin pretty bad, I think because of a combination of the Half Marathon and the intense basketball stuff. So I had to take TWO STINKING WEEKS off of training! So ya that was not fun...but praise God it's all healed! I also met my roommate, another freshman ball player and track runner from Idaho named Kate Tracy. She is awesome and we get a long really well! She even has a best friend going to Fox!
* we went to the lake August 9-16th, and it was my first time up there since Memorial Day! Jason got to come up for two nights, and Monz for two nights, and we had a blast! Kayla was also up for the whole week with Heidi, Paul for the week with Nate, and Rebecca with Josie! So he had lots of guests! When we were boating with Jason we saw a HORSE on WILDHORSE ISLAND!!!!!!! It's super exciting cause I've always wanted to! So look for it in the picture collage =) For the weekend part Student Leadership from Valley came up so I mainly hung out with Josie and Rebecca, swimming and playing baseball, which was really special. When we were packing up on Sunday my dad cut his leg on a piece of glass while taking out the trash! After we got home on Sunday night I had to give him 5 skin staples! He says I'm a great surgeon! He's a tough guy!
* On Monday the 17th Monz left for Fox, so at 5:45am her and Kayla and Heidi and I went for one last run on the M, and got to run during the sunrise which was AWESOME! Then we went to the Hob Nob for breakfast and Lauren, Hannah, Mrs. Baier, and Mrs. Clawson were also there! It was really sweet! I miss Monz, and can't wait to be close to her during school!
* Jason was leaving Friday morning at 7am, so on Thursday night he planned me a surprise dinner, at the OUTBACK!! I was so blown away...he even paid for dinner with his own blood! (Well the money from donating it =)) He's the sweetheart of my life and loves me so selflessly =) We also went mini golfing and came back and played Settler's of Catan with my mom and Josie! Overall we just enjoyed the night...it was so beyond beautiful! =) This morning Heidi and I met him at Starbucks at 6am for coffee =) And I'm so excited for this next part of us...and growing closer even though we're miles apart! I already miss him of course and can't wait to see him soon! =) =)
Well that's the time capsule! I'm leaving on Tuesday for school, so I'll be pretty busy getting ready these next couple days!
I'll load the pictures from this "capsule" up when I get back from dinner! (Yes, we're going to dinner at 9:45pm...that's how we roll =))

The Power of Prayer
This is from Country magazine:
"When construction began on a bar in a small town, the local church started a campaign of prayers and petitions to stop it. One week before the bar was to open, lightening struck the building and burned it to the ground.
The bar owner sued the church, saying that its prayers were responsible for the loss of his building. The church, through its lawyer, denied any responsibility.
When the case got to its first court hearing, the judge looked over the paperwork and said, 'I don't know how I'm going to decide this. We have a bar owner who believes in the power of prayer and a church who doesn't!'"

I am a Christian...
When I say..."I am a Christian" I am not shouting "I'm clean living,"
I'm whispering "I was lost, now I'm found and forgiven.
When I say..."I am a Christian" I don't speak of this out of pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.
When I say..."I am a Christian" I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.
When I say..."I am a Christian" I'm not bragging of success,
I'm admitting I've failed and need God to clean up my mess.
When I say..."I am a Christian" I'm not claiming to be perfect;
My flaws are far to visible, but God believes I'm worth it.
When I say..."I am a Christian" I still feel the sting of pain;
I have my shares of heartaches, so I call upon His name.
When I say..."I am a Christian" I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner who received God's good grace somehow!

I'll get pictures posted when i get them, but yesterday was my cousin Carrie's wedding. It was very beautiful and centered on God. It was incredible and holy because it was their first kiss, and it made me think a lot about my wedding (in the future...) and how that day will be so incredibly glorious and holy because it will be OUR first kiss as well. Just thinking about the glory and purity in that...WOW
Anyway, so today Monz and Lauren and I ran the Missoula Half Marathon at 6AM. I'm so proud of them and I love running with them! It was awesome! And even though my foot was killing me from mile 8 on, it's such a rush to run that far and to FINISH! Woohoo!! And I was gonna put a picture up, but my computer isn't really letting me do that right now, so I'll do it later =) I promise

"I have been blessed
And I feel like I've found my way
I thank God for all I've been given
At the end of every day
I have been blessed
With so much more than I deserve
To be here with the ones that love me
To love them so much it hurts
I have been blessed"
So I wanted to post those lyrics by Martina McBride because they are so true. I have been blessed by God so much!! I need to thank Him more, cause a lot of times I find myself just asking for more, instead of telling Him how He amazes me and thanking Him for my blessings.
Then I was thinking, "Oh it's 4th of July I should do something patriotic" But I didn't want to be just like "everyone else" and get all patriotic for the day. Then another thought ran through my head..."Lauren you should be thankful for your country...it's one of the ways you've been blessed! Don't take it for granted! Today is the perfect time to reflect on your blessings."
So I want to say,
"If tomorrow all the things were gone, I’d worked for all my life
"If tomorrow all the things were gone, I’d worked for all my life
And I had to start again, with just my children and my wife
I’d thank my lucky stars,to be livin here today
I’d thank my lucky stars,to be livin here today
‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom, and they can’t take that away
And I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free
And I wont forget the men who died, who gave that right to me
And I'll glady stand up, next to you and defend her still today
There ain't no doubt, I love this land...
God bless the USA"
Yes, the US is not perfect. But it is a HUGE blessing to live here.
